Terms of Service
The rules for using Portable Detail’s website and services.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Portable Detail website at portabledetail.com, our online booking and quote tools, and our mobile vehicle detailing services (together, the “Services”). By accessing the website, creating an account, requesting a quote, booking a service, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Business Identity
The Services are provided by Portable Detail, operated by Janson Port, based in St. George, Utah. Contact information is listed at the end of these Terms.
Online booking, quotes, customer accounts, and payments may be facilitated through ReHive (rehive.tech). Use of those tools may also be subject to ReHive’s applicable terms and privacy policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to book or purchase Services. If you use the Services on behalf of a business or another person, you represent that you have authority to bind that party to these Terms.
3. Our Services
Portable Detail provides mobile and on-site vehicle care, which may include:
- Interior and exterior detailing packages for cars, SUVs, trucks, and larger vehicles
- Exterior wash, wax, and paint-protection services
- Ceramic and graphene coating services
- Specialty vehicle detailing (for example, boats, RVs/trailers, UTVs), when available
- Window tint quotes and related service coordination
Service availability depends on location, vehicle type, weather, scheduling capacity, and other factors. Package names, durations, and pricing shown on the website are estimates and may be adjusted based on vehicle condition, size, access, or add-on work confirmed before or during service.
4. Accounts
Some features require a customer account through our booking platform. You agree to provide accurate information, keep login credentials confidential, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
5. Booking, Access, and Preparation
When you book a service, you agree to:
- Provide accurate vehicle, contact, and location information
- Ensure reasonable access to the vehicle at the scheduled time and place
- Secure or remove valuables and personal items before service
- Disclose known damage, mechanical issues, aftermarket modifications, or special conditions that could affect service
- Follow any reasonable pre-service instructions we provide
If we cannot access the vehicle, or the vehicle is not reasonably available for service at the scheduled time, a late cancellation or no-show fee may apply as described below.
6. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and No-Shows
- Standard detailing services: Cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before the appointment.
- Premium detailing and ceramic/coating services: Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before the appointment.
- Late cancellations: May be charged up to 50% of the scheduled service price.
- No-shows / no access: May be charged up to 100% of the scheduled service price.
We may cancel or reschedule due to weather, safety concerns, equipment issues, technician availability, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we cancel, we will work with you to reschedule or provide an appropriate refund or credit for prepaid amounts for the canceled appointment.
7. Pricing and Payment
- Prices are as listed on our website, quote, or booking confirmation, subject to adjustment for vehicle condition, size, or approved add-ons.
- Payment is due as required at booking or as otherwise stated in your confirmation.
- We accept payment methods supported by our booking/payment providers.
- You authorize charges for booked services, approved extras, applicable taxes, and permitted cancellation/no-show fees.
If you are dissatisfied with completed work, notify us within 24 hours of service completion so we can review and, at our discretion, remedy the issue, offer a partial refund, or provide service credit.
8. Recurring or Membership Plans
If we offer recurring service plans or memberships, the specific plan details, billing frequency, and cancellation terms will be disclosed at signup. Unless otherwise stated in writing for that plan:
- Recurring charges continue until you cancel according to the plan instructions
- Cancellation requests should be sent to jansonport@portabledetail.com or by calling (435) 708-3564 at least 7 days before the next billing date
- Fees already billed for the current period are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we fail to provide the scheduled service
9. Service Results and Limitations
We perform services with professional care using appropriate products and methods. Results vary based on vehicle age, paint/interior condition, prior damage, contamination, and maintenance history. Detailing and coating services do not repair dents, chips, deep scratches, mechanical issues, or irreversible stains/odors.
Pre-existing damage should be disclosed before service. We are not responsible for latent defects that become apparent during normal detailing processes.
10. Customer Responsibilities and Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Provide false booking, vehicle, or payment information
- Interfere with website security, booking systems, or staff operations
- Harass, threaten, or abuse our team
- Use the Services for unlawful purposes
11. Communications
By providing contact information, you consent to receive service-related communications by email, phone, or text (for example, confirmations, reminders, status updates, and receipts). Marketing messages, if any, are optional and can be opted out of as described in our Privacy Policy. You cannot opt out of essential service communications while an active booking or account relationship exists, except by canceling the relevant service/account where applicable.
12. Intellectual Property
Website content, branding, logos, photos, video, and related materials are owned by Portable Detail or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, scrape, modify, or commercially reuse our content without prior written permission.
13. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated in writing, the Services and website are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free website availability.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Portable Detail and its owner, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
Our total liability for any claim related to a specific service will not exceed the amount you paid for that service. We are not responsible for personal items left in a vehicle or for damage arising from undisclosed pre-existing conditions.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Portable Detail and its owner, employees, and contractors from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the issue informally.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, the parties agree to binding individual arbitration in Washington County, Utah, except that either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for intellectual property or unauthorized access issues. To the fullest extent permitted by law, class actions and class arbitrations are waived.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to booking tools or refuse service if you breach these Terms, engage in abusive or fraudulent conduct, or create safety or operational concerns. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (including payment obligations, liability limits, and dispute terms) will survive.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last Updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
